Over the weekend the nation's leading infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci estimated that concert venues & theaters could reopen this fall "if everything goes right," he told those as part of a conference held by the Association of Performing Arts Professionals.

If 70%-85% of the American population is able to get vaccinated by early-to-mid Fall 2021 then he feels "you can have people feeling safe performing onstage as well as people in the audience.”

Fauci stressed the importance of venues & theaters ensuring that they have good ventilation systems and proper air filters so that they can start getting back to hosting events & screenings at full capacity. He referenced a German study from last summer that concluded there was a low chance of spreading COVID-19 if venues have proper ventilation and health protocols in place.

The latest economic stimulus has allotted approximately $10 billion to the country's independent venues & theaters to help them stay afloat until a time where people can get back to them safely, which Dr. Fauci assures will happen.
