Reports have begun to surface today that rapper Lil Wayne is facing felony weapons charges, which could end up culminating in a 10 year prison sentence for the New Orleans native.

According to TMZ, the 38-year-old rapper has been slapped with one count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida. The charge originates from December 2019, when a firearm was found aboard Weezy’s private plane.

While this story is still developing, it is worth noting that the rapper served 10 months in prison, back in 2010, after pleading guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon.

Wayne last made news in the days leading up to the contentious 2020 U.S. election after posing with President Donald Trump during a meeting about the administration's proposed "Platinum Plan" for Black Americans.

Rapper 50 Cent called him out for the support following his own reckoning, and rumor has it that Wayne’s girlfriend, model Denise Bidot, decided to break up with Wayne following his enthusiastic endorsement.
