Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Cause Storm Over Baby Archie’s Baptism

July 5, 2019

With the exception of a few appearances here and there, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been laying low since the birth of their first child, Archie Windsor.

But with Archie’s christening on the docket for this weekend, fans are growing more and more frustrated with the royals’ requests for privacy.

While typically, royal christenings are a private event, the Cambridges had gotten in the habit of allowing cameras to snap shots of the family’s arrival at the chapel. This won’t be the case for Archie’s baptism, scheduled for this Saturday, CNN reports.

There are no confirmations on who will be in attendance, but a “royal source” has revealed that only a few close family members and friends got the invite.

All hope is not lost for followers who want to have the inside scoop about Archie’s big day. The Sussexes have plans to release photos taken by their personal photographer after the event.

Still, news outlets and fans alike have their qualms about the privacy level of the newest royal family.

Sources like the Daily Telegraph and the Sunday Times have revealed that if the Sussexes want to be private, they shouldn’t ask the public to fund their lifestyle.

Allies of the royals have spoken up, too, with Goldburn P. Maynard Jr. of the University of Louisville saying that while even in the US, there’s a certain demand for transparency amongst political figures, “we very well know their children are off-limits and are able to have a private life.”
