The Latest Collab for Kanye West: Yeezy and Gap

Yeezy Gap is set to hit stores in the first half of 2021

Kanye West’s latest creative venture has been revealed. No, it’s not a new album or anything related to music.

West teased a collaboration between his Yeezy brand and Gap, a connection he established all the way back in 2004 on his The College Dropout track “Spaceship.”

“YEEZY AND GAP FORM PARTNERSHIP #WESTDAYEVER” he wrote in a tweet that also contained a modified Gap logo in the Yeezy brand style.

Just before that tweet, West shared a photo of several clothes being taken out of a bag with a “developed by YEEZY and GAP” marking alongside the location of his Wyoming headquarters where many of his current projects take place.

The new clothing line will be called Yeezy Gap and is slated for introduction into the market in the first half of 2021. According to the New York Times, Gap and West agreed on a 10-year deal, beginning this month, with the option to renew after five years. By year five, the company is aiming for Yeezy Gap to generate $1 billion sales.

Following the news, Gap stock soared with a 16% increase.

The news comes shortly after it was revealed that Kanye West was the highest-paid musician of this past year. West brought in $170 million last year, a large part of the success due to his Yeezy sneaker line.

As for the previous link between Kanye and Gap, West’s song “Spaceship” gave Gap a mention as the first verse references working at the retail store before ultimately deciding to leave it behind and dive full on into his music career.
