Drake & Future Sued By Woman Who Claims She Was Raped

Victim says it happened at their Nashville concert last year

August 15, 2017

Rappers Drake and Future find themselves in the middle of a lawsuit stemming from an alleged rape during their Nashville concert last year. It is important to note that neither rapper is accused of the sexual assault, but rather for being negligent in employing the accused rapist.

The woman says she was sexually assaulted at the concert at the Bridgestone Arena last year. The concert was part of the rappers' co-headlining Summer Sixteen Tour. The man arrested and charged in the rape, Leavy Johnson, told the victim he worked for the arena and offered to take her backstage to meet the rappers.

According to the lawsuit, obtained by People, the victim is seeking $25 million dollars in damages, claiming the arena, the touring companies, the security company, and the rappers should have known that employing the accused attacker put concert-goers at risk. It's unclear if Johnson had a history of violence against women, though the defense claims he did.
