Sedgwick County Jail inmates being tested for COVID-19

Colonel Brian White told Sedgwick County Commissioners that the jail is in the process of testing all inmates for COVID-19. As of Wednesday morning, 123 inmates have tested positive, while 144 are negative. Among the staff, 11 are positive and 36 are negative.

Colonel White said it usually takes the lab in Topeka about 48 hours to get testing results back to the jail staff.

The inmates will be separated into pods based on the positive and negative test results.
