Wichita mask mandate to expire, Council to vote to extend

The mask ordinance for the City of Wichita is set to expire on Tuesday.  However, the City Council is expected to vote to possibly extend the ordinance until September 8.

Tuesday's vote comes amid reports of 1,100 new cases since Friday and seven new deaths, and controversy in the form of criticism from the Kansas Policy Institute that charges KDHE Sec. Dr. Lee Norman manipulated a coronavirus graph to deceive people.

At least one council member has said they will vote against extending the ordinance.
